Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux

Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) is an initiative within the Fedora Project to provide high quality additional packages for CentOS Stream and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). The goal for EPEL packages is to enhance these distributions, without disturbing or replacing packages from the default repositories. EPEL packages should, when possible, be maintained in similar ways to packages from the default repositories.

EPEL is governed by the EPEL Steering Committee. All Fedora maintainers who build for EPEL are part of the initiative. Some of these maintainers collaborate in the EPEL Packagers Special Interest Group.
